“FOUR SHOTS. THREE LEGS. ZERO ANSWERS!”
Enfield, Illinois, 1973. After hearing scratching outside his home, Henry McDaniel stepped into the night with a flashlight and a pistol. He reported seeing a gray creature with enormous pink-reflecting eyes, short front limbs, and what appeared to be three legs. He fired four shots. The thing hissed and bounded away into the darkness.
Strange Tales No. 7 reimagines that unnerving encounter as a vintage pulp-horror comic cover: the Enfield Horror crouches outside a rural farmhouse beneath a full moon, its enormous red eyes fixed on the viewer. Distressed ink, dramatic monster illustration, aged print texture, and a classic 10¢ cover price complete the old-school horror look.
